Michael Schmidt, born 1980, of Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada is one of the worlds leading Ten-pin bowlers.

He has won the 7th Bowling World Cup title for Canada defeating Or Aviram of Israel in the men’s final of the 41st Qubica/AMF World Cup to give Canada its seventh Bowling World Cup title and a tie with the Philippines for the second most wins. He won a gold and a silver medal at the 2006 AMF World Cup.

He is the first male winner since Ray Mitchell won in Hamburg, Germany in 1972. USA now has 14 with Linda Barnes defeating Fiona Banks for the women’s title.

Schmidt is booked to play in the 2006 World Tenpin Masters.
