Michael Rocque is a candidate for US House of Representatives from New York. He is running against Kirsten Gillibrand in New York's 20th congressional district.[1]

Michael Rocque was born in Niagara Falls, New York in 1958; his family moved to Whitehall, New York soon thereafter. He attended the University of Vermont on a ROTC scholarship. Upon graduation in 1980, he entered the US Army.

Rocque served in the US Army from 1980 to 2000. During that time, he served as a member of the Green Berets and then as a member of the Delta Force, eventually being put in command of the Delta Force special operations squadron.[2] He retired in 2000 with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
