Michael Potter

Michael "Mick" Potter is an Australian former rugby league player and the head coach of the French Super League team Les Catalans Dragons. Potter played in the Australian club competition for the Canterbury Bulldogs, St. George Dragons and Western Reds as well as representing New South Wales in the State of Origin.

Michael Potter joined St. George Dragons in 1989 as a fullback, and later became the team's skipper. He retired from football in 1993, but returned for one more season with Western Reds in 1995.

The following year, 1996, Potter started his coaching career as assistant coach for the English Super League team, Bradford Bulls alongside Matthew Elliot. He remained there until 1999 when he took over the coaching position for the New South Wales Under-17 squad

In February 2006, Michael Potter was appointed Head Coach for the French Rugby league team Catalans Dragons who he took to the 2007 Challenge Cup Final.

Currently, Potter is in contention for the head coaching position at the Canterbury Bulldogs, following the resignation of Steve Folkes.

Potter is also said to be in talks with St Helens and has also received an offer of a new two year deal from the Catalans Dragons.[1] He will succeed Daniel Anderson at the helm of St Helens at the end of the season.[2]
