[edit] Biography
Michael Peterson has been a student of art his entire life. Graduating from The University of Arizona with a bachelor of Fine Arts with his emphasis in 3-dimensional studies, Peterson also studied at Whittier College in California and Pima College in Tucson, Arizona.
Throughout his education Peterson had to deal with a rare form of color-blindness called deuteranopia, a condition which makes it difficult to distinguish between many colors of the spectrum. Peterson would at many times become frustrated when expected to create realistic renditions, and eventually directed his work to sculpture. Shortly after his degree completion, Peterson began painting once again full-time. With his background in sculpture and color-blindness teamed with his unique approach with paint application, Peterson has developed a style of painting truly individual to his own.
