Michael Obiora (born 8 October 1986, West London, England) is an English actor.

Obiora started drama classes aged seven. Aged ten he landed a part in the children's school drama Grange Hill, where he played played 'Max Abassi' in the programme for five years. As a teen he appeared in such programmes as Doctors and The Bill. He then completed an 11-week run on stage in Exclude Me at The Chelsea Theatre. Lead roles in the plays Fallout at the Royal Court Theatre and Badnuff at The Soho Theatre followed.

Aged seventeen he appeared in the ITV series Bombshell. He appeared in a seven-month run in the play Elmina’s Kitchen.

However it is for his role as gay receptionist (although he is heterosexual himself), 'Ben Trueman', in the BBC series, Hotel Babylon that he is most familiar. He has also appeared in the Doctor Who episode, Blink, on 9 June 2007.

Obiora is most famous for his current role in the BBC drama Hotel Babylon. He plays receptionist Ben Truman who works alongside Anna Thorton-Wilton. He has played in the role since 2006 and is presumed to stay in the fourth series, airing in 2009.[1]
