Michael O'Connor (September 27, 1810 – October 18, 1872) was an American (Irish-born) Jesuit and Roman Catholic bishop. He served as the first Catholic Bishop of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA between August 15, 1843 and May 23, 1860, except for the time between April 29, 1853 and February 20, 1854, when he was appointed the first Catholic Bishop of Erie. O'Connor came to the United States, which was a mission at the time, after his ordination. As bishop, O'Connor faced extradorinary anti-Catholic prejudice.
In 1860, O'Connor, in ill health, resigned his position as bishop, and entered the Society of Jesus. Upon his death in 1872, he was buried in the Jesuit cemetery at Woodstock, Maryland.
