Michael Megrew

Michael Ross Megrew (born January 29, 1984 in Richmond, Rhode Island) is a left-handed pitcher in Minor League Baseball who currently pitches in the San Diego Padres organization, after signing a minor league contract in January 2008.
An All-State standout at Chariho High School in Rhode Island, he was named a Rawlings Second-Team All-American as a Senior. He also played football as a wide receiver and safety his junior and sophomore years.
Megrew was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 5th round of the 2002 MLB Draft and signed on June 5, 2002.
Pitched for the Gulf Coast Dodgers in 2002, the Ogden Raptors in 2003 and the Vero Beach Dodgers in 2004. Underwent Tommy John Surgery on September 24, 2004 and missed most of the 2005 season. He was selected by the Florida Marlins in the Rule 5 draft before the 2006 season. Failed to make the Marlins roster out of spring training and was returned to the Dodgers, where he spent the 2006 season at Vero Beach.
In 2007, he was added to the Dodgers 40-man extended roster, and placed on the Double-A Jacksonville Suns.
