Michael Koeberling

Michael Koeberling is a violin, viola and cello maker, working in Murnau in southern Germany.

Michael Koeberling opened his business in 1999 following 13 years of working with his father, Johann Koeberling. He specialises in the making of professional concert quality Violins, Violas, and Cellos. His current workshop was built in 2006 and is located in Murnau, Germany, between Mittenwald and Munich.
He makes approximately eight instruments a year, with customers from Europe, North America and Japan. In December 2005, he delivered a new violin for Elmar Oliveira, who used the violin for his concert tour in 2006 and for two recordings released in 2007.
He makes instruments of his own design as well as meticulous copies of famous Stradivari and Guarneri designs.
