Michael Klotz

Michael Klotz (born in Rochester, New York in 1978) is an violist in the Amernet String Quartet.
Klotz is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music where he was awarded the Performer's Certificate. In 2002 he became one of the few individuals to be awarded a double Master's degree from The Juilliard School in violin and viola.
Klotz made his debut with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra at age 17. He has since performed as soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician on four continents. He serves on the faculty of Florida International University in Miami and the Bowdoin International Music Festival in Brunswick, Maine. He currently performs on a 1619 Anotnio and Hieronymus Amati viola on loan from Peter Kamnitzer of the LaSalle Quartet.
