Michael Jennings (born September 9, 1977 in Preston, England) is a professional boxer, fighting out of the town of Chorley in Lancashire.
Jennings turned pro in May of 1999, fighting club-level opposition until roughly 2003, when he defeated Jimmy Gould for the minor WBU intercontinental welterweight belt. He then won the BBBoC English championship from Chris Saunders, defending it several times on the road to winning the British championship in a bout with Jimmy Vincent. Jennings defended the British championship from Bradley Pryce, and then lost the title on a controversial split decision to Young Mutley in his second title defence. Following that loss he has had a fight against Slovakian Rastislav Kovac, winning by knockout in the 3rd round.
On April 7, 2007, he won the WBU welterweight championship from Takaloo by decision in a bout held at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. That match was the first time Jennings had boxed professionally outside of England
Michael defended his WBU title for the 1st time at the london arena on 2nd February 2008 stopping Ross Minter in the 9th round.
