Michael Hobbs

Major General Sir Michael Hobbs KCVO, CBE (born 28 February 1937) is a former commander in the British Army and now a charity director and Governor of the Military Knights of Windsor.
He was educated at Eton College and went on to serve with the Grenadier Guards between 1956 and 1980. He served on the Directing Staff of Staff College between 1974-1977. He joined the Ministry of Defence in 1980 and subsequently became Commander of the 39th Infantry Brigade between 1982 and 1984 and the 4th Armoured division from 1985–1987.
Sir Michael has also held the positions of both Director of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award between 1988 and 1998 and a Director of the Outward Bound Trust since 1995. He is a director of the London Law Trust, a grant making charitable trust. Sir Michael has been the Governor of the Military Knights of Windsor since 2000.
