Michael Hill is the Administrator of Ascension Island, a dependency of the British overseas territory of Saint Helena.

He took up his appointment on Ascension in September 2005 on direct transfer from his previous post as British High Commissioner in Port Vila, Vanuatu.

As Administrator, his role is to represent the Governor of Saint Helena, Michael Clancy.

He is married to Elizabeth and has four children: Alastair, Victoria, Richard and Alexander.

They live in The Residency, which is the house provided for the Administrator and family. The Residency is located on Green Mountain. Alexander Hill, also known as Beany, goes to Sherborne School In England. He is the youngest sibling, Alistair being the oldest. Michael and Alexander, along with 3 guests, were affected by a tidal wave that hit Georgetown pier in the summer of 2007 while fishing at night. They all escaped unharmed with only minor damage to their car.
