Michael Hammerschlag

Michael Hammerschlag is a journalist who has written commentary and articles for many major newspapers and magazines over 20 years, including International Herald Tribune, Seattle Times, Providence Journal, Honolulu Advertiser, Columbia Journalism Review, Media Channel, Capital Times, Modern Photography, Outside; and Moscow News, Tribune, Guardian, + Times.

He was a correspondent in the Soviet Union/ Russia as the largest empire on earth collapsed, was a TV reporter, and has produced TV documentaries, and radio reports. He recently returned to Russia after over a decade. His specialties include US + international politics, space exploration, chemistry, nuclear strategy, television, and movies. His commentaries have often accurately predicted events 4-12 months before the fact, including the collapse of the Warsaw Pact and possible end of the Cold War 5 months before the Berlin Wall fell.
