Michael Gungor

Michael Gungor, of Denver,Colorado United States is a Christian worship music singer/song writer. His most noted work is the Dove nominated song of the year: “Friend of God” which he co-authored with Israel Houghton. Gungor is also known for his involvement in the Acquire the Fire: Battle Cry conferences as the worship leader. Gungor “lives to help other people encounter God through worship.”1 Currently, he leads a monthly worship gathering in Denver called bloom. 5 Gungor also leads worship for other churches in the United States.

Michael Gungor began his musical career on a plastic guitar with plastic strings that he received for Christmas from his Grandmother. He has led worship since high school and has been educated at Oral Roberts University, North Texas University and Western Michigan University. His musical style was influenced by many genres including jazz, rock, world music, and more. He has released three albums: Bigger Than My Imagination, Battle Cry: Worship from the Frontlines, and All I need is Here.
