Michael Gasperson (born June 10, 1982 in Monterey, California) is an American football wide receiver who is currently with the Philadelphia Eagles. A big-bodied receiver, Michael Gasperson spent the majority of the 2005 season on the Eagles practice squad before being allocated to play for Cologne in NFL Europe that following spring.

After spending time playing for Cologne, Gasperson returned to the United States to continue his involvement with the Eagles during the 2006-2007, and 2007-2008 seasons. On December 19th, 2007, Gasperson was moved up from the Eagles practice squad and placed on their active roster. This came after injuries were suffered by both Matt Schobel, and L.J. Smith.

Gasperson's regular season NFL debut came against the New Orleans Saints in Week 16; the Eagles defeated the Saints 38-23. In that game Gasperson recorded one incomplete pass after dropping a ball thrown to him in the flat by Donovan McNabb. Later in the game Gasperson caught, and downed, a punt for the Eagles.

On January 2, 2008, Gasperson was re-signed to a three year contract with the Eagles.

Gasperson played collegiately at the University of San Diego under former NFL quarterback Jim Harbaugh, brother of the then Eagles secondary coach John Harbaugh, who is currently the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens. In 2002 Gasperson received first-team All-Pioneer Football League honors after hauling in a team-high 57 receptions for 907 yd and 10 TDs. During the 2002 regular season game against Valparaiso Gasperson set a USD and PFL record with 5 TDs.

Over three seasons Gasperson accounted for 116 receptions, 1,894 yards, and 17 touchdowns (TDs). He was named to the Sports Network's I-AA Mid-Major All-America Team in 2004. He also earned team MVP honors.

  • Was a four-sport letterman at Palma High School in Salinas, CA and earned the school's Outstanding Senior Athlete award in his senior year. In addition to playing baseball, basketball and soccer as a kid, was also a competitve swimmer.

He and his wife, Mandy, live in both Deptford, NJ, and San Diego, CA. Mandy is now a substitute teacher in New Jersey and she was a San Diego Chargers cheerleader when she was a student at the University of San Diego, where the two met.

His father, Gary, is a real estate investor and his mother, Jane, is a pre-school teacher. His brother, Joey, played two years of soccer at the University of Arizona and is now a personal trainer in Monterey,CA.

His grandparents, Joseph and Angelina Anastasi, own Mike's Seafood on Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey. Joseph played tailback at Santa Clara.

Gasperson's hometown of Monterey, CA, is a small fishing town of 35,000 people.• Worked at his grandparents’ candy store, “Casa Karmel Korn,” growing up. Also worked as a bus boy at his grandfather’s restaurant, “Mike’s Seafood”

Enjoys wakeboarding at his family’s lake house at Lake Don Pedro in La Grange, CA. While in college, took some real estate classes and would someday like to get his broker's license.

Is a self-proclaimed “shoe fanatic” and owns dozens of shoes. His favorite are a pair of “Air Jordan IV’s.” Once purchased a $450 pair of Nike “Uncle Dunks,” which were black, white and pink in color. “I've loved shoes ever since I was a kid. I used to walk around just looking at peoples’ feet.”
