Michael E. Zimmerman (philosopher)

Michael E. Zimmerman (born 7 July 1946) is an integral theorist whose interests include Buddhism, Heidegger, Nietzsche, alien abduction, and Ken Wilber. He is Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Institute for Humanities and the Arts at Tulane University, and is also affiliated with the Integral Institute. Together with Sean Esbjörn-Hargens he is currently writing a book on integral ecology, Integral Ecology: Uniting Multiple Perspectives on the Natural World. Zimmerman is now a faculty member at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

He additionally is a specialist on Martin Heidegger and has published a number of books with major university presses and many peer-reviewed articles on his work, and on other conventional philosophical topics.
