S. Michael Craven (July 11, 1960 in Houston, Texas) is a Christian author, speaker and apologist

Michael is a Christian cultural apologist, author, columnist, and speaker. Michael is the founder and president of the Center for Christ & Culture located in Dallas, Texas. The Center for Christ & Culture is a ministry of renewal that works to recapture the relevance of Christianity in culture by equipping individual Christians with a thoroughly intelligent Christian approach to matters of culture. The vision of the ministry is not to “moralize” society or culture but rather to demonstrate the relevance of Jesus Christ to every aspect of life and culture. Michael is known for his ability to reason and contend with those of differing viewpoints in an intelligent and gracious manner.

Michael is the author of Uncompromised Faith: Overcoming Our Culturalized Christianity published by Navpress, which is scheduled for release in winter 2009. Michael also authored the popular Cultural Apologetic Series addressing key cultural issues. Michael writes a popular weekly commentary, which through subscription and syndication on Crosswalk.com, Christianity.com, and The Christian Post reaches more than four and half million readers each week.

Michael speaks on university campuses, national conferences and seminaries, appeared on Fox News, CNN, ABC, NBC, and many other national television and radio programs.

Michael is a frequent guest host of the nationally-syndicated radio program, Point of View and serves as an adjunct professor at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. Michael serves as a Senior Fellow of Cultural and Family Issues at the Center for Cultural Leadership in Santa Cruz, California and was elected Moderator of the Fellowship of Mere Christianity in 2007.

Craven was born in 1960. Craven graduated from Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1978. Craven attended Arkansas State University where he was member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Craven served in the United States Navy from 1980 to 1984 where he served in the Pacific fleet with distinction, receiving numerous awards and commendations.

Prior to beginning full-time ministry in 2001, Craven enjoyed a successful business career serving several companies in an executive capacity including that of president & CEO of a U.S. subsidiary of Hebel AG based in Munich, Germany.
