[edit] Career

Michael Choi broke onto the American comics scene after being hired by Top Cow Productions. He started as Marc Silvestri's (Top Cow's President) background assistant during Silvestri's X-Men run in 2003. His first major work was a back-up story for Witchblade #75. However, he became a familiar name among Top Cow fans after starting a run as regular penciler for Witchblade that would last until the series' 100th issue.

Because of the Top Cow/Marvel deal, Choi penciled a 6-issue Marvel mini-series entitled X23: Target X, despite his contract with Top Cow. After he finished his run on X23: Target X, Choi has been re-launching the Tomb Raider comic book series with writer Ron Marz.

As of Dec 07, it's been said by Top Cow that Tomb Raider will not be getting re-launched due to legal reasons.

Michael Choi will be joining Marvel and will begin penciling Uncanny X-men from issue #495 with Ed Brubaker.

In the April 2007 issue of Wizard Magazine (186) Mike was named number 10 of the "Hot 10 Artists" for his work on X-23: Target X. "Choi pulls up the rear with his newly popular, vibrant pencils." (TJD, Wizard)

At New York Comic Con 2008, it was announced that Choi has signed an exclusive contract with Marvel Comics and will be part of a revolving art team on X-Force.
