Michael Cavanaugh (b. 1972, Cleveland, Ohio, USA) is an actor, musician and singer most famous for playing the piano/lead vocals in the band for the Broadway musical Movin' Out.

Cavanaugh is the youngest of four boys. His older brothers were all musical and played instruments. When he was 7, his parents bought a piano and he began playing immediately. At age 18, he met future wife Karin and they married three years later in 1993. At present, Cavanaugh resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with his family .

In 2003, Cavanaugh received a Tony nomination for his role in Movin' Out, losing to Dick Latessa (who played Wilbur Turnblad in Hairspray). In 2006, Cavanaugh released his debut studio album Sounds A Lot Like Me.
