Michael Carroll (Irish footballer)

Michael Carroll(born August 23, 1989) is a footballer from Derry currently playing for Limavady United F.C. Michael spent most of his youth playing for his local team Culmore F.C., where he was hailed as an exciting prospect by many Derry and District League officials. His team mates often referred to him as Slick Mick or El Capitan. He then signed for Institute F.C., representing their youth team in the Foyle Cup. After a short, but quite successful season at Institute, Michael then moved to Limavady United, where he was the youngest player to make a breakthrough into the reserve team, at the tender age of 16. He also represented Derry in the Milk Cup. Michael was the captain of the reserve team until March 2007 and was the youngest player in Limavady United history to captain the reserve team. He has represented the first team one one occasion. He was nominated for Limavady Young Player of the Year.
