Michael Avon Oeming (Pronounced O-Ming[citation needed]) is an American comic book artist and writer well known for his stark art style which is used for telling sophisticated and mature subject matter.

He was born in El Paso, Texas. He is a well known fan of ancient mythology, having written or drawn several projects centering on the Norse gods, as well as others. He frequently collaborates with long-time friend Bryan Glass, and with Brian Michael Bendis. He is part of the M.O.B. crew of comic book creators, David Mack and Brian Bendis.

Recent projects include The Mice Templar from Image Comics which he has drawn and co-authored with Bryan J.L. Glass.[1]

He's noted for his arm wrestling fund raising for the non-profit charity Hero's Initiative. He has a half dozen black belts in various martial arts.
