[edit] Image
Image:MiamiSpringsHighSchool.jpg is nice and all, but use of copyrighted pictures should be kept to a minimum. In this case anyone with a camera in the Miami Springs area ahould be able to replace it with one or more GFDL or otherwise freely licenced version(s) of equal or better quality. --Sherool 08:45, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
Sorry about removing the tag, I was copying the tag to use for another picture and must've accidentally removed it. Once I get a camera, I'm gonna go around the local schools to take pictures, so it won't be long until it gets replaced. PRueda29 09:34, 1 November 2005 (UTC)

- Well, there's no more need to worry about Image:MiamiSpringsHighSchool.jpg, I've replaced it with a picture I took myself this morning (keeping the same filename). -- PRueda29 / Ptalk29 / Pcontribs29 14:15, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Possibly Insensitive Remark
There is a remark in the article which implies that purging Miami Springs of out of area students was the primary reason test scores at the school improved within a short period of time. This remark, especially as its specifies the ethnicity of the students removed smacks of racism or at the very least of class bias. There could be any number of reasons that test scores improved and these reasons need to be accounted for before one goes about making remarks that could be construed as racist. This does not mean that the author of the statement was racist as "could be construed as" and "is" racist are two very, very different things. Obviously, if one can present a strong case that the policy of removing out of area students was the main reason then nothing is wrong with telling the truth as it is since to do otherwise would then be to bow to political correctness. As it is however, making such a statement based on one single correlation is not appropriate, especially since matters of ethnicity and race are involved. At any rate the remark will modified to remove mention of race or ethnicity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.176.23.6 (talk • contribs)
- unfortunately, it occasionally occurs that an anonymous user will add personal comments to an article without it being spotted by the regular users who watch this article, you can freely edit it and remove bias, unconfirmed, and erroneous information from the article. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 02:16, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] About the Notable Alumni Section
MSHS graduates should take this section very seriously. Notable does not mean world famous but neither does it mean someone who just graduated this school year and has achieved nothing more important than sitting on his or her backside playing video games until the start of college this fall. In short, consider carefully before including someone in this section. Please make sure that no personal information beyond the individuals name is included. Personal means: Home or Work Address, Phone Number(s), Social Security Number and the like.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.176.23.6 (talk • contribs)
