[edit] Edison High Protest

It wasnt a riot, and this is the story. http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message512603/pg1 http://takebacktheland.blogspot.com/2008/02/students-protest-and-police-riot-edison.html

On Thursday, February 28, 2008 a student was put in a choke hold by a school official(some say teacher, some say asst. principal), afterwards, while the student was in class, he was arrested by the police, apparently, in a brutal way. The students were outraged and protested the next day against the violence by the authorities. The students did not become violent until AFTER the police tried to break up the peaceful protest. Someone wikify it and add it to the page. Peoplez1k (talk) 19:44, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Update, http://www1.wsvn.com/, Ive been watching eye witness reports. From 3 girls who said they were being held as prisoners in school, They said that a student on thursday had the student paper in his hand, when Mr. Perez asked to see it, the kid said it was private, he then ran off to a class room, he was chased by the school official, Mr. Perez, and choked. Apparently this isn't the first time this school official has been violent. There were pregnant students who were beaten by the police. Students were seen with blood on their faces as though they had been beaten. The WHOLE school was involved in the protest, everyone was protesting the school official because he was often violent with students unnecessarily. Multiple students were taken from the school into police cars, and then brought back into the school. Students say tazers and pepper gas were used. Later on the students were put on lockdown, and were not let out of the school. Despite what the authorities of the Miami police dept. and school officials said, they were not in class or back to regular schedules. Peoplez1k (talk) 19:44, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
