It would appear that Miami Beach is on an island. But what is the name of the island?

The island's name is the same as the city - Miami Beach, just like Key West. - Marc Averette 17:49, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Art Deco District?

What about the Art Deco District? There's nothing about it in this article yet...

Added Art Deco District section.
Added link to Art Deco Weekend article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Editor99 (talkcontribs) 16:20, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Post Holocaust

The "Post Holocaust" section doesn't even mention the Holocaust. Either the section should tie Miami Beach to the Holocaust, or if the link is not firm enough then that section heading is inappropriate. (Sobesurfski 15:44, 12 June 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Picture

The picture that represents Miami Beach is not very good; it should be more like the one on Los Angeles. --MosheA 01:11, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NPOV

I added the NPOV-template because of many unsourced claims. Sentences like "During the winter season of January to March, celebrities, fashion models and wealthy Europeans make the city a second home, and rates at some of the best hotels can be astronomical." without any sources seem to be original research to me. [edit] History

Article needs more on the history of Miami Beach, with a history section. -- Infrogmation 20:28, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Images

Article had a huge pile of indiscriminate images in a gallery, the majority without even any description. I slashed it ruthlessly. If someone wishes to take time for a more careful and considered selection of photos, they are certainly welcome to. However recall that Wikipedia articles should not be galleries of large numbers of images. The gallery of additional images can easily be found on the Commons link, which is where most or all the images belong. -- Infrogmation 20:28, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Well done. Even though you took out one of mine, I don't mind. I was meaning to heavily prune it myself. It was one on my long list of WP things to do. -- Alexf(t/c) 21:27, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:MiamiBeachCity seal.gif

Image:MiamiBeachCity seal.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
