Miao, Changlang

Miao is a sub-division in Changlang district. Its about 25 kilometer from the Assam border. The main tribes residing here are mainly Tangsas, Singhpos, Lishus and Chakmas. It is a small town, but is well connected by road. It has transport station, with bus daily available. It’s also a great tourist attraction. The Namdapha tiger project is situated here, and the river Dihang also flows through it.there is a mini zoo,a museum and various other sites to be visited.the nao-dihing is the most important river flowing through miao.the mountain range is called patkai bum and is the eastern extention of the himalayas.Deban is the main tourist spot,35km from miao.it has got a tourist banglow.more over theri are circuit houses and an inspection bunglow,for tourists. The people here are mainly engaged in government jobs, but the people of nearby villages survive on agriculture. Jhum cultivation is very famous here, now people have started tea plantation too. It is a developing town, has about 4 primary schools and 1 high secondary school.
