Miami Central Station (also, when opened, will be a bus, rapid transit, commuter rail, and national passenger rail union station) in unincorporated Miami, Florida.
The station will be located inside the future Miami Intermodal Center, which will be just east of Miami International Airport. Phase I of the station, which includes the opening of the Miami International Airport people mover service and the Metrorail portion of the rail station, is scheduled to open in June 2010. Phase II, which entails the completion and opening of the Tri-Rail commuter rail and Amtrak rail services, is scheduled for completion and opening in 2011. Miami Central Station will also temporarily act as an western terminus for a North extension of Metrorail, until the western expansion alongside the Dolphin Expressway (SR 836) to Florida International University is completed. This further Metrorail extension is scheduled to begin service in 2016.
