[edit] History
Before becoming one of the members of Mhee Noi, a boy named Ship decided to promote the songs he wrote and do something completely new and weird. In 2004, he formed a band called Dek-Lek project with 5 members: Aude, Vivorn, Atom, Yingyod and Ship (himself), to participate in a contest at his school (Patumwan Demonstration School) but the result was unsuccessful because such rude words in their songs were unacceptable.
In 2005, Aude and Ship decided to change their style of music to Rock with two new members, Vee and Joe. They then decided to change the name of the band to Anti-All and participated in their school's contest again while Atom, one of the members of Dek-Lek project, joined the new band with Petch, his friend.
In 2006, Aude went to America to study. Due to his departure, the band split. Ship continued to accumulate musical knowledge and experience and refused to give up, spending days and nights improving his musical skills and his song-writing ability.
That same year, Atom joined a band named Geub Jazz and surprisingly this band was awarded first place in the school contest while Petch was treated in hospital for mental illness.
In 2007, Aude returned. He came up with the idea to write songs critiquing the Culture of Thailand and Thai society so he formed a new band consisting of Ship, Atom, Petch and himself. Unlike any other Thai band, Mhee Noi writes 'severe' songs full of sarcasm and irony reflecting the reality of Thai society. This band, therefore, is called Mhee Noi.[2]
In April 2007, Mhee Noi first released its songs in myspace.com. The first song released was the song named Diet Coke and then followed by a popular song named Wat Pantip which has been greatly criticized because of its inappropriate meaning. However, without concerning with any critical comment on its songs, Mhee Noi has still been making songs full of quality as well as severity like always in order to satisfy both members of Mhee Noi and its listeners such songs as Nerd, Mirror, Vegetarian and the latest new released song, Land of Shit, which is so critical that Mhee Noi has undoubtedly been blamed for its unacceptable song.
In November, In Fat Festival 7, Mhee Noi combined Wat Pantip into album named Mind The Gap, containing various songs from different independent artists and this album has been available on the internet for free downloads in a name, My Ass Hurts, But My Hua-Jai Loves It.
