[edit] Fair Use In

This Tag doesn't seem like its working, so if you're going to delete this image again, pleas email me, and tell me how to fix this. I have permission to put this on the site, and plus I think its fair use anyway since it is used on the site I have taken most of my information from. Thanks!

Thanks for contacting me(which you did by email). The best place to ask about these sort of questions is Wikipedia:Media copyright questions (as suggested below). I know that getting permission to use an image on Wikipedia only (distinct from getting it released under the GFDL) does not by itself make it legal to use on Wikipedia. As for the fair use claim, I personally don't feel able to offer an opinion. Try the folks at Media copyright questions. I only delete images that have been tagged as lacking a source by someone else, so hopefully, assuming you get the fair use issue straightened out, the image will never come to my attention again. [edit] Image Tagging for Image:Photo_jennings2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Photo_jennings2.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

...my frater in the bond. Nice additions to the TKE article, contact me anytime for assistance or just conversation. At the 2003 conclave I met a couple of your fraters from Evansville, and I have the "Teke: Where Everybody Knows Your Name/and We're Always Glad You Came" t-shirt from there. Happy editing to you! [edit] Image:TKECoatofarms.jpg

Hello Mh143, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:TKECoatofarms.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Mh143. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 01:43, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:TKECoatofarms.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:TKECoatofarms.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:58, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Photo jennings2.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Photo jennings2.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Carl (CBM · talk) 14:59, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
