The Mexican hornshark, Heterodontus mexicanus, is a bullhead shark of the family Heterodontidae, found in the tropical eastern Pacific Ocean from the surface to 50 m. Its length is up to 70 cm.

The Mexican hornshark is found on littoral continental waters, on rocky and sandy areas from close inshore down to at least 20 m depth. Reproduction is oviparous. It flesh is utilized as fishmeal.
