The Mexican National Welterweight Championship (Campeonato Nacional Welter) is a national Mexican professional wrestling championship controlled by Comisión de Box y Lucha Libre Mexico D.F. (Mexico City Boxing and Wrestling Commission). The title is a "National" title in that it’s intended for Mexicans only, by birth or by citizenship [1]. As of the mid-1980s, the weight limit for the title was 172 lb (78 kg) [2].
