The Mexican National Atómicos Championship is a tag team championship for four man teams, or "Atomicos" as they are referred to in Lucha libre. The title is a "National title" controlled by Comisión de Box y Lucha Libre Mexico D.F. (Mexico City Boxing and Wrestling Commission), which regulates all matches where the title is defended. The Mexican National titles are intended for Mexican’s only, by birth or by citizenship, the title is only supposed to be defended in "normal" matches, i.e. no hardcore matches etc. although that rule has at times been overlooked.[1]

The title has been in use since 1996 and is primarily defended in the Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) promotion even though it is technically not an AAA title and could be defended on the independent circuit if the Commission allows it.[2]
