The True Story of Thermopalye == == The true story of " The Battle for Thermopylae.

We all know how the last stand of 300 at Thermopylae ends and what happens during the battle. But some of the information is wrong in the movie. First of all the Spartans always wore brass armor and a Corinthian battle helmet. Second on all they were all ways in a formation called a phalax. Third the passageway of Thermopylae was so narrow you wouldn't be able to fight with horses or elephants. Next is that there were two battles. One on sea and on land. The one on sea was fought by the spartan navy to protect a waterway that leads behind the Spartan lines. The Persian were going to land troops behind the Spartans and trap them. But this detail was lost in history. The reason that the Persians fought the Spartans was that the Persians wanted revenge because the Spartans had burnt down their temples in the battle of Marathon. Most importantly of all things wrong was that there wasn't just 300 Spartans. There were about a thousand troops from Delphi along with the 300 Spartans. This detail was lost in History because everyone believed this story to be a myth. In the end the movie 300 was historically inaccurate. jeremy suxs.
