Bizarrely, I've found continuing references to the former area of the Metropolitan Police District with respect to funding for education! It seems that "london weighting" for students means "within the MPD as it existed prior to 2000" - have a look at [1] and [2], for example! Morwen - Talk 20:08, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

And yet for discounted travel the establishment must be located in "the geographical area within the M25". [3] I wonder if any instutions render students eligible for one but not the other under these rules? MRSC 10:27, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

I think there should be a mention of "metropolitain Essex" somewhere in this article, it was originally the parts of essex that were policed by the met but its also the bits that used to be essex but are now greater london (Havering, Bark n Dag, Ilford, Waltham forest) where do yous think that should go here, and the essex article as well Joevsimp 16:05, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
