[edit] "Part 1" a joke?

I remember Mike Portnoy mentioning something about "the original Metropolis Pt. 2" which seems to imply that they had planned to make it, or was this just the 24 minute version mentioned on the page? A citation would be good. Offski 10:04, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Connection to Part 2?

Obviously, Part 2 tells a story, as do most Dream Theater songs; but does Part 1 actually tell a story similar to Part 2? To me, I can't make heads or tails about this song.

(Note, this is all my view on it) Yes, it connects. "The night shed a tear/To tell her of fear/And of sorrow and pain/She'll never outgrow" shows his dreams, "As a man I've found it's all caught up with me/I'm asleep yet I'm so afraid" shows the dreams as well. The "first dance", is the killing Edward committed. deceit, the second dance, shows his lying to make it look like a double suicide. the third dance is the dance of eternity, the same as in part 2: the two having sex. "The both of you will be confined/to this mind" is the re-incarnation. It's all there, it was just expanded on majorly in part 2. -Violask81976 21:29, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bass Solo Trivia

Deleted part about the fact it included Myung's bass solo, seeing as it was fairly irrelevant. A lot of songs do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.23.145.65 (talk) 21:59, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Dream theater iaw.jpg

Image:Dream theater iaw.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
