[edit] Never Declared

Metropolis never declared itself the Home town of Superman. Here is a reference http://www.supermanhomepage.com/comics/comics.php?topic=articles/superb-manifestations

[edit] Daily Planet

The paper was called the Metropolis Daily Planet years ago, but it looks like it's been changed to the Metropolis Planet in light of the fact that it's a weekly paper.

[edit] Western District of Columbia

Can we get a source or more information about this town once being planned as a replacement for the U.S. capital?

[edit] Origin of the name

Since this is the only town named "Metropolis," is there any info on how it came to be so named? Obviously it is not a metropolis by definition. Was it wishful thinking? Was it named something else before the Superman comics and renamed in their honor?Highnumber 14:07, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't think there's ever been a real metropolis named "Metropolis". If you check the disambiguation there are several towns listed that are actually smaller than Metropolis, IL. --IronMaidenRocks (talk) 22:39, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Location of Metropolis within Illinois

Whoever put up the map showing Metropolis' location missed its actual location by a good 50 miles. Fix please, anyone? --IronMaidenRocks (talk) 22:43, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
