[edit] Comment
I removed the following information from the article. My reason is that it since it isn't really confirmed to be official or not and isn't really otherwise notable yet, it doesn't add a lot to the article. I do, however, think it's hilarious as a fan of both All Your Base and Metroid. :) --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 21:46, Oct 29, 2004 (UTC)
"==="I love bees" parody=== This may or may not be related to the above, but entering a URL for "I Love Bees" with a rhyming word in place of bees, such as, say, [http://www.ilovecapris.com/ "I Love Capris"], winds you up at a site proclaiming "ALL YOUR BEES ARE BELONG TO US. NEVER SEND A MAN TO DO A WOMAN'S JOB." A cheap shot at The Haunted Apiary and the [[Master Chief]] to be sure, but it is uncertain if it is an official prank or that of a fan."
- *shrug* Why not leave it in here, then; it's still kinda worth checking out, if only for a laugh.
- Though it's come to my attention that the Master Chief needs his own page; relinking to the real kind isn't gonna cut it. I suppose that's something to do... Shadow Hog 22:35, 29 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Alternate reality game?
Metroid Prime 2 itself isn't really an alternate reality game from what I know about the things, which admittedly only comes from the Wikipedia entry on it. Channel 51 is, and so is Orbis Labs, but MP2 isn't... sure, currently the only info about them is in the Prime article, but I think it might be a little early to be putting MP2 in the ARG category... Halo 2 isn't in the ARG category, but The Haunted Apiary is. --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 17:32, Oct 30, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Wait, wait, wait...
...why are we removing the advertisement stuff from the page? It may not be doing much advertisement now that the game is out, but it should still be noted on here or otherwise linked to, since it was still notable. --Shadow Hog 03:08, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- I'm not sure why it was removed, but it should definitely be kept or at least moved to its own page (Channel 51 or something) with a small mention in this article. --Matteh 03:20, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- Actually, its own article would probably be best, since it looks like the ARG will be back for Hunters.--Matteh 04:14, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Where is the ARG for Hunters? If they already released First Hunt there probably isnt one. Zxcvbnm
- Actually, Hunters is nowhere to be seen in the release schedules, so it could be so long in arriving that it'll get to be part of the AR game as well. However, until such a thing happens, I think that the AR game should remain part of this article. Sockatume 18:13, 19 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia is not a walkthrough
I feel that sentences like "(DO NOT FORGET TO SCAN ALL FORMS TO GET MORE INFORMATION)" are not for Wikipedia. The article contains too much information on how the game should be played, what weapons to use with specific bosses etc. I think such references should not be in the Wiki article. So, should such references be removed? Felsir 12:49, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
- Move gameplay tips to wikibooks:Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 23:38, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
Though Wiki is not a walkthrough, informign people about scanniong everything and gettigne very item to unlock an intersting endiing might be helpfull. Personally, I think including information about the unlockable visual galleis would be nice too if it's not already added. And to get tehese galeries you have to scan things :) but yea this ins't a walkthrough and we should try to aviod adding walkthrough ish type information
but i still think including information about unloackable features via scanning is importent

[edit] Reference to what?
I posted this fun fact here...
- When scanning a forcefield control in the Aerial Training Site of the Ing Hive, the message ends with "Shield deactivated. End Of Line." This is possbily a reference to Tron.
"End Of Line" doesn't really make much sense, expecially since the first letter of every word is capitalized. It's definitely a reference to something, so I did a search and the best thing I could come up with was Tron. Do you think that's accurate? - Joshua368 02:36, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
- "End of Line" is a programming term (referring to the end of a string). Sure, it's used in Tron, as that is based off of such things, but it is in no way a reference to the film. As such I'm going to remove it from the article. Alex 19:58, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
-
- True, but the actual awkward wording (compared to that of pretty much every other system message in the game) makes it look like a reference to something. Did something ever use it with "Shield deactivated."? - Joshua368 02:06, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
- The reason this shouldn't be included in the article is that it's speculative. It could be a reference to Tron, but since "end of line" is such a commonly used computer term, there's no way to know it for a fact unless someone from Retro, preferably the person who wrote that bit in the game, confirms it. Anyway, Wikipedia isn't meant to include blurbs such "This is probably a reference to..." or "This is might be a reference to..." etc. It has to be certain. Druff 17:03, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Speed runs
I don't see what speed runs got to do with this article!? For god sake, it's an article! If we want speed running thing, those are for people who don't care about the game but just want to finish it on time:/
- >x<ino 00:57, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Speed running and Metroid games go together like peanut butter and jelly. The series is famous for it's speed runs. The Metroid 2000 site also has numerous tricks and glitches to exploit in the game, not to mention it's vast amount of game footage of said tricks. Sonic Hog 02:41, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Samus Speak's?
Does Samus say anything in the game? Other than the usual grunts from when she gets hit? I was reading about Eternal Darkenss, and I clicked on who plays the lead role, and it also said that she voiced Samus in this game. So, does she?
- No, Samus does not speak; she only makes noises when she is injured or killed (these are provided by Jennifer Hale). --Covenant Elite 06:47, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cycle?
What is a cycle? In the game, the keep referring the ages of thing as cylcles. Is it just an in-game way of telling time?? "THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED!" 04:36, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- In short, yes. Though this is pure speculation on my part, comparing events in the Space Pirate logs leads me to believe a cycle is approximately equivelant to one month. --Herald Alberich 04:52, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Depends one centicycle is equal to a century (100 years)
This has been something confusing me too. Herald Alberich's estimate of 1 month seems reasonable since corpses would decompose with no trace after a few years suggesting that a cycle can't be longer than half a year and one quote from a space pirate log about metroid breeding 'we should meet command's quota within a cycle' suggests a cycle can't be shorter than a few weeks. Ovavasour 16:05, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Please remember this is a game and is set in outer space in a fictional universe. Things might still be ok in 1000 years for all I know.Lokon40 00:07, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
- How could we not know this is a game? and it set on a planet....not outer space....thats saying earth is set in out space...... THROUGH FIRE, JUSTICE IS SERVED! 07:04, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Point of View
Some of this Article is written from a gamer's point of view like "Fought Dark Samus, beat the game" 69.169.92.216 04:56, 13 November 2006 (UTC):
It is a game after all.....we're not supposed to be totally in-universe in games. If you can find a real case of POV, feel free to remove it. --Niroht 02:35, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Luminoth Temple
LT wasn't planned to support other Metroid games. It was said numerous times it was just for marketing for Metroid Prime 2, and that is also the reason why it got shut down the time it did.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.5.241.194 (talk • contribs)
Is that why the LT page disappeared? I typed 'Luminoth Temple' into the search box, and it just took me to the MP2:E page. The temple deserves the full page that it once had. I know for a fact that a lot of work went into making that page, and it shouldn't have been mercilessly taken down.--The Great Morgil70.105.111.185 19:26, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- It says right there on the bottom of the edit screen, if you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed by others, do not submit it. From what I can tell it's an issue of noticability, especially since it isn't around anymore.--Niroht 20:05, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Just so you all are aware, every single former Templar, myself included, hates your guts for deleting the LT page. ~An anonymous former Templar~
- Just so you are aware, I didn't delete it, and also it's quite impossible to post in talk pages anonymously. Please, though, such messages as the one you made are disruptive to Wikipedia, please do try to be civil. --Niroht | Smoke signals 22:18, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] References
There are ZERO References and sources to the article. Please find good references for the article. If there are no references in this article, it might as well be as good as gone. Don't leave this article behind. Just because the game was not as popular as Prime does not mean the article should not have references. It also needs updates. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chykka207 (talk • contribs) 04:58, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
OK, so there are some refs, but no cited content in the article. Please cite them. References in an article without citing content does not count and seems to somewhat be laziness to me. Please also do cleanup and improve article when possible and make it clearer and more detailed, as well as make it more relevant and encyclopedic and professional please. The article needs it. I'm serious. Chykka207 04:45, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Music info
I have created a music section as well as integrating the remix trivia. I have also removed the Trivia section.--Chykka207 (talk) 06:48, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
