Field is really tricky to determine (Analysis, Number theory, Algebra are all arguable). The article does not do justice to all the applications of metaplectic group, especially in the section on Weil representation. Perhaps, that section needs to me forked. Arcfrk 10:41, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
