Metropolitan Kirill, Russian: Митрополит Кирилл (born as Vladimir Mikhailovich Gundyayev, Russian: Владимир Михайлович Гундяев, November 20, 1946, Leningrad, Soviet Union), is a Russian orthodox bishop, Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchy) official, the metropolitan of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, the Chairman of the External Church Relations Department of the Moscow Patriarchate since November 1989, and a prominent church politician.[[]]
