[edit] Curriculum

Metrolina Regional Scholars' Academy focuses on an intellectually challenging curriculum. The math program begins teaching high school level courses in 6th grade. North Carolina End Of Course exams are administered in Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Biology. Earth Science and Physical Science are also taught in 5th and 7th grades respectively; however, the EOC exams are not administered in those subjects. The foreign language program teaches Spanish and Mandarin Chinese starting in kindergarten. Other enrichment classes include Choir, Strings (Violin and Viola), Visual Art, and Physical Education. Strings class was added in the 2006-2007 school year. Physical Education was replaced with International Tae Kwon Do until the 2007-2008 school year, when the program was canceled due to budget restraints.

[edit] Administration

The school is currently headed by Dr. Marie Peine. She served as a Gifted Coordinator and Teacher for the Servier County School system shortly before becoming the Director of MRSA in June of 2001.
