Metro Riots are a four piece alternative rock group hailing from London, England that formed in 2003. Damo Ezekiel [vocals] Danny Fury [Guitars] Sammy Ray [Bass] Oliver Parker [Drums]
They have been support and on the same bill with bands such as The Melvins, Juliette lewis and the licks, MC5, The Charlatans, Dirty pretty things, DFA, The Libertines and many more
2004 saw the first release, "And so...the tyrants were loose E.P" which gained them acclaim with the music press and many high profile bands, who asked for the band to join them on tours all over England, where they cut there heels over and over again in every club and public house in the land and were now being managed by rock photographer Roger Sargent [NME, Kerrang, Q] 2006 was the release of the single "When you're gone", which was the first release from the bands record label Eleven78 records. It earned Single of the week in The Sun newspaper and Xfm Radio London 104.9fm [John kennedy show] among others. They then started on 2 UK tours with Dirty Pretty Things and then a European tour with Juliette and the Licks, as well as returning to England for some of their own UK touring, and recording their debut album "Night time angel candy" at the now defunct legendary Rockfields studios with Producer Pedro ferriera 2007 saw the first release from the album with the single "New epidemic". After showcasing at SXSW festival in Texas they were being realised as a live band to be contended with and that cemented them with an even bigger tour of Europe again with Juliette Lewis and the Licks. The second release from the Album "Poison the bride" came with a bizarre video which was refused play on music video channels because it was just too freaky for TV and then in August 2007 they released their debut album "Night time angel candy" Which they celebrated by booking a 4 week residency in Oxford Street London.
2008 The band are now busy working on there second album in their in-home built studio. There is also some European releases and tours being planned
