Meteo

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

  • Meteo is an asteroid belt in the Star Fox series of video games.
  • Meteo is also a prominent and (usually) very powerful magic spell in some of the Final Fantasy video games, most notably Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy VII, where it has plot significance. The name 'Meteo' was originally used due to the limitation of having 5-character spell names; in later games and in remakes of earlier ones, it is changed to 'Meteor'.
  • Meteo is a destructive planet in the video game Meteos.
  • Meteo (traditionally METEO) is a machine translation system developed by the TAUM research group lead by Chandioux in Université de Montréal between 1975-1977. METEO was developed for the translation of weather reports from English to French issued by the meteorological institutes in Canada. One of the important aspects of METEO was that the results of the system were directly published to the public without revision. It is in fact operational even today and according to a resource dated around 90s it is processing 20 to 30 thousand reports a day.
  • Meteo is also used as a general abbreviation for Meteorology.
  • Meteo (screenname) is one of the most well-known MMORPG players on many online MMORPG communities such as Onrpg.com, Curse.com and MMOSite.com.
