"Metal Health", sometimes called "Bang Your Head", is a song by American metal band Quiet Riot on their breakthrough album of the same name. The song is their best known hit and received constant MTV music video and radio play."Metal Health" was the bands 2nd top 40 hit, peaking at # 31 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was ranked #35 on VH1's Top 40 Metal Songs. "Metal Health" is known for its drum rattle at the beginning of the song as well as the famed chorus:

Bang your head! Metal Health'll drive you mad

The song talks about the headbanging subculture. Because of this, the song caught the attention of many heavy metal fans upon its release. The single contained both the studio-recorded version and a live version.

The song is featured on the in-game radio for the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, which takes place in 1984. It was included in the intro to the movie Crank.

The song is also featured on the PlayStation 2 video game Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s, though it misses the main guitar solo that was replaced by a bridge (a succession of rhythm chords). An early build of Guitar Hero II that included "Metal Health" as a hidden track shows that the song had been recorded with the solo, but no reason is known as to why it was taken off. [1]

A cover version is the theme song for the video game Showdown: Legends of Wrestling. This song was also played in a Season 1 episode of the television show Supernatural called "Hookman".
