[edit] Stone Soup (comic strip)

Hi there!

I asked a question on the Stone Soup talk page about why splitting up the character list into Female and Male sections was a good idea. When I didn't get a response, I merged them back together - hoping that would at least generate some dialog on the talk page. I see you split them up again, without a comment and without an edit summary. Could you discuss why? Thanks. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 03:54, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

Even though we can differentiate between the men and the women of this strip, I found that the frequency of the female characters was MUCH HIGHER than of the male ones and thus divided them accordingly. Because it was of a virtually duplicate nature to that strip, I based my strategy on what I saw on the FoxTrot page. by dividing characters into specific groups
Thanks for answering! FoxTrot divides it up into members of the Fox family, and other characters. That makes sense for a comic strip about one family. Stone Soup (comic strip) could be divided up into sections about members of the Stone family and others; that would also make sense - although being a less nuclear family, it's harder to define: is Andy a member or the Stone family? I'm not really sure. Dividing it up as Male / Female just seems arbitrary. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 22:57, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
Based on my time here, pretty much all of Wiki has become arbitrary (and don't even ask about long-term neutrality). It took me a long time to find that page; I wound up creating a duplicate without any knowledge of its existence!
...Wikipedia has a lot of not-so-good parts, but the more people we have trying to make it all better, the better it gets. What duplicate page did you create? By the way, you should sign talk-page comments by typing four tildes (~~~~). —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 23:34, 25 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Dates

Hey, I noticed that you changed all the dates on the U.S. Acres page. This isn't necessary, since as long as they're linked, you can change how you see them on your screen by going into your preferences. Makemi 01:36, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

Messy Thinking 03:20, 31 December 2005 (UTC) That was the problem; they WEREN'T all in total linked form. What might have read 1988-06-23 wound up reading just plain June 23.
