[edit] January 2008

Hi, the recent edit you made to Female ejaculation has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. [edit] Duplicate images uploaded

Thanks for uploading Image:Nicholas John Phillips.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Nicholas J. Phillips.jpg. The copy called Image:Nicholas J. Phillips.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot (talk) 09:14, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Infobox Scientist

Hi. Are you trying to use academic_advisor or academic_advisors as the parameter name? (Just checking; it's the latter that should work.) Sardanaphalus (talk) 04:36, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Thanks for correcting the documentation. The problem with the [Nobel icon]+[link]+[year] is solved by using {{nowrap}} (or, for a [link]+[year], an &nbsp; between them). I've amended the two examples you gave. I also ordered the awards chronologically and replaced some </br>s with <br/>s as I think the former might be backwards...? Sardanaphalus (talk) 10:56, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
(PS You may already know this, but I believe the default position for items such as the Nobel icon is, like flag icons, to precede the links etc to which they refer. I think this is because they draw attention to these links etc, which, being in English, are read from left to right rather than right to left. I'm not 100% certain, though.)
  • </br>s: Okay (but one counter-example immediately came to mind: <ref name="name"/> – or does that work with the slash first too? I've never tried it.)
Icon position: Okay – as I said, I'm not 100% sure about it – but I'd agree with a consensus that said their drawing attention to something to their left seems less user-friendly than to their right. I think there may even have been a reaction against them altogether, so be prepared for that too! Sardanaphalus (talk) 11:16, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
