INTRODUCING... THE SCRATCHPAD OF MESSEDROCKER! This may be Messedrocker's, but you can screw around here too if you want.

Really, the point of this is to store crap I don't feel like having on my user page.

[edit] Translating Articles

Recently, I've taken up the task of having articles translated into foreign languages. Not just any foreign language, though. By "foreign language," I mean undertreated language Wikipedias like Swahili Wikipedia. This page details my efforts to have articles translated into different languages.

In 99% of cases, I will have to be enlisting the aid of someone else to translate articles. In the case I have to pay, only stub versions of articles will be translated. This is to ensure coverage in many fields as possible (ten stubs is better than one really long article).

My goal is to have all the articles from m:List of articles all languages should have in all foreign languages brought up. If you have an idea for a language I could pursue, let me know.

[edit] Languages I'm involved with

  • Swahili Wikipedia - Hey, I referred to it by name earlier for a reason. A short while ago (as of writing), I was hooked up with a professional translator who could translate articles on English Wikipedia into Swahili. That's how my whole effort began. Since the Swahili Wikipedia is doing fine (with over 1,000 articles and counting), I think I'll work on even smaller Wikipedias. User Page: sw:User:Messedrocker

Messedrocker belongs to the following WikiProjects:
  • WikiProject Hat FetishismBMid
This article is B-level quality and has Mid-level importance to the evaluating WikiProject.
  • WikiProject Republicans Named JohnStartHigh
This article is Start-level quality and has High-level importance to the evaluating WikiProject.
I highly disagree with WikiProject Hat Fetishism's evaluation of this article -- it's clearly a Start, not a B.

WikiProjects are groups of Wikipedians who wish to work together on certain articles. If you need assistance or want to help out with similar articles, please see the relevant WikiProjects.

The goal of this template is to condense the various extant WikiProject banners into a more compact template. This is not a user template; it just has a username up on top because this page happens to be a subpage of a user page. The template is User:Messedrocker/Scratchpad/WikiProjectBanner. Please improve wherever possible.

[edit] Grayout

from "Caffeine":

Withdrawal symptoms—possibly including headache, irritability, an inability to concentrate, and stomach aches[1]—may appear within 12 to 24 hours after discontinuation of caffeine intake, peak at roughly 48 hours, and usually last from one to five days, representing the time required for the number of adenosine receptors in the brain to revert to "normal" levels, uninfluenced by caffeine consumption. Caffeine causes excess release of stomach acids during ingestion.[2] When in withdrawal the stomach acid levels decrease substantially and can cause some stomach aches in certain people. The aches normally last between 24–48 hours and can be confused with constipation. Analgesics, such as aspirin, can relieve the pain symptoms, as can a small dose of caffeine.[3] Most effective is a combination of both an analgesic and a small amount of caffeine.
