As per Talk:Mesothelioma:

67.52.142.215 added another 501c3 charity, "Mesothelioma Research Foundation of America". The site looks somewhat legit at first glance, but I don't recognize the names of any of the professionals, and the user who added the link seems to be responsible for some linkspam-like activity in the LASIK and PLASTIC SURGERY nodes. The WHOIS record suggests that the site is a front for phhlaw.com. I'd like to remove it, but I'd like to check first if anyone else can support it. Especially since my arguments against it are similar to the arguments against MARF (which I *can* personally vouch for.) --Mdwyer 23:46, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
Removed them again. --Mdwyer 22:33, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
  • The address from the organization's home page[1] is identical to the address for "Paul, Hanley & Harley LLP"[2]
  • The only Doctor on the board, Dr. Parkash Gill, specializes in Oncology but not meso[3].
  • Despite existing since 2001[4], they've only funded one study on VEGF, by Dr Gill. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mdwyer (talkcontribs) 06:47:37, August 19, 2007 (UTC).

I would like to address the concerns proposed by MDwyer and provide an explanation. SEE BELOW

  • The address from the organization's home page[5] is identical to the address for "Paul, Hanley & Harley LLP"[6]-The computer and IP address that the wikipedia stub was submitted on was puchased and registered to Paul & Hanley but the individual submitting the stub is a Director of the Mesothelioma Reseach Foundation of America. In addition to this there are no advertisements or aknowledgements of Paul & Hanley that can be viewed by those searching wikipedia
  • The only Doctor on the board, Dr. Parkash Gill, specializes in Oncology but not meso[7].-Dr. Parkash Gill is not only a board certified oncologist but also a board certified hematologist who is actively researching mesothelioma and treating mesothelioma patients at the USC/Norris Comprehensvice Cancer Center. In addition to the VEGF (Veglin) treatments that Dr. Parkash Gill has developed and administered he has also wrote on a new mesothelioma treatment called EPHB4 that will eventually be submitted to the FDA as an alternative treatment for mesothelioma. See article published by AACR Journals at http://www.mesorfa.org/pdfs/EphB4MesoCCR4305.pdf. In addition to Dr. Gill the MESORFA medical advisory also includes board members Dr. Michael Koss (pathologist) and Dr. Jeffry Scott (Oncologist)
  • Despite existing since 2001[8], they've only funded one study on VEGF, by Dr Gill. To date VEGF is the only drug that has been developed and administered by Dr. Gill at the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and has since been pushed through both Phase I and Phase II of FDA approval. We hope to include a second drug EPHB4 to be submitted to the FDA for Phase I clinical trials in 2008. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Srucker (talkcontribs) 19:45, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
