this is a duplicate of 'midbrain'

'midbrain' and 'mesencephalon' are the same thing --

[edit] Categorization

Should this be in Category:Brainstem instead of in Category:Cerebrum? This would be consistent with the list of regions in the human brain. Courtland 03:45, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] diagram?

This article may be too technical for a general audience.
Please help improve this article by providing more context and better explanations of technical details to make it more accessible, without removing technical details.

Can the caption of the lower half of the diagram at the upper right corner of the page (the "coronal section") be clearer as to the orientation, that is, which sides of the diagram are front/back, left/right and/or top/bottom? Thank you. 38.100.34.2 23:19, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
