Messier 38 (also known as M38 or NGC 1912) is an open cluster in the Auriga constellation.
It was discovered by Giovanni Batista Hodierna before 1654 and independently found by Le Gentil in 1749. M38 is at a distance of about 3,420 light years away from Earth.[1]
