Mesh magazine

Mesh Magazine is a free, bimonthly publication that covers independent music, art, fashion and culture in the San Francisco Bay Area. The magazine's first issue was released in September, 2003 and has featured musicians like Rogue Wave, Comets on Fire, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Black Heart Procession and Lyrics Born. The magazine also covers numerous Bay Area artists, many of whom are associated with the Mission School movement. In addition to interviews with musicians and artists, the magazine is known for its brash, sometimes crude, columnists and cartoonist, such as Daniel Taylor, Joy Lian Alferness (The Restaurant Whore) and Porous Walker, who was named Best Cartoonist in San Francisco by the SF Weekly in May, 2006. Other noteworthy contributors to the magazine are Bay Area writers/music geeks: Brian Brophy, Ben Cellini, Chuck Gonzalez, Kate Izquierdo, Audrey Le, Paul Linblad, David Ma, Angela Marx, Fred Miketa, Arthur Nyborg, Jan Rachel Reyes, Ian Rivamonte, Max Sidman, Daniel Taylor, Christopher Wu, Mila Zuo.


In addition, former San Francisco Board of Supervisors President Matt Gonzalez also contributes a regular column.
