[edit] Carlos Salzedo

Hey, Merv! Wow! Where'd you find all that stuff on Salzedo? I'm not asking for your references, although somebody probably will. I was just surprised to see the article (other than the interminable list of compositions) DOUBLE in size overnight! What is this? I thought you were a biologist, not a harp afficionado! <g> I know nothing about him other than what I've read here. I've just been working on putting said interminable list into the proper wiki format. If you have any interest in helping out with *that* project, I'd be VERY pleased! You can see about how far I've gotten if you just scroll down the list...

Just thought you'd appreciate knowing that SOMEBODY noticed all the work you did there! Thank you! Image:WikiThanks.png --Mpwrmnt 10:36, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

The stuff I added on Salzedo is from Carlos Salzedo: From Aeolian to Thunder, by Dewey Owens (Salzedo's student). For a while I wasn't entirely convinced they had actually published it, but it seems there are more copies out there than my teacher's.... I'll be adding more as long as I urgently need to finish my grad school applications.

Anyway, you don't appear to be a harpist. How'd you get interested in Salzedo?

Ahh... the same way I got interested in most of the stuff I've done in my few short weeks here! I was looking for something else & wound up chasing rabbits! In this case, I did a search on bi-tonal music and his composition Bi-tonal Jig came up. At that point I realized that the list of compositions needed some formatting, so I dove in!
btw, I just did a search for your book at AbeBooks.com, which is a network of independent bookstores. (They maintain a search function and also have a Want feature, so if none of their bookstores has what you're looking for, you can put in a Want & they'll let you know when a copy comes in to any of their bookstores!) Anyway, they have 2 copies of that book, although it appears to be very rare!
Math, huh? Math & Harp? What will you be studying in grad school? Mpwrmnt 07:39, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
In case you don't have Talk:Carlos Salzedo on your watch list, check out some notes I left there tonite! <g> Mpwrmnt 09:46, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
